Toshiba Thrive was one of the 6 tablets to look for in 2011.
Unfortunately the first version didn’t go too well. What does Toshiba
do? Put it on a diet and release it again. Toshiba has cut down some
fat, some ports and also the price and is re-launching Thrive for under
$400. Not the most attractive price considering Amazon Kindle Fire is priced at $250 and will come out at the same time as Thrive.
Specifications
New Toshiba Thrive is a 7-inch tablet with a resolution of 1280×800 – something other tablets don’t yet have. Thrive is powered by 1 GHz dual core NVidia Tegra 2 processor, 1 GB RAM, 16/32 GB flash memory and dual cameras 5MP –rear and 2 MP – front. The tablet weighs less than a pound is less than half an inch in thickness.
Oh! It runs Android 3.2.
It works mostly well
The common complaint I hear about the Android tablets is, it works mostly well but few apps are crashing. This review from The Verge has the same comment about Toshiba Thrive.
How long before a Android tablet software where everything just works? Ice Cream Sandwich?
